Major Maintenance
FOR EVERY CAR
Here's a quick breakdown of major car maintenance items every vehicle owner should have in mind when they hit these important mileage markers. These are rough estimates though, as every manufacturer and model has varied needs and are different from routine - though just as important as maintenance - like tire rotations, brake repair, and the like.
Leon's Automotive offers a complete vehicle inspection with EVERY SERVICE for FREE! This way you'll know if something out of these ordinary repairs is coming up.
Every 30,000 miles most cars need to have both the engine and cabin air filters replaced. The motor air filter keeps the air that turns into combustion in your motor at the highest quality (doesn’t apply to electric vehicles, of course). The cabin air filter is equally important, it keeps the air you're breathing inside your car clean. This is especially helpful when behind garbage trucks… On top of this it’s a good idea to have a mechanic replace the transmission fluid (and transfer case fluid on four-wheel drive vehicles) as well.

Everyone needs this important auto service as well. At 60k, it's recommended to repeat the maintenance procedures performed at 30k and include an inspection of the vehicle's battery (which enables you to start your car) and examine suspension components too. Severe weather conditions, particularly winter conditions with brine, can cause wear on your shocks and struts. Therefore, it's essential to have these parts inspected when you reach 60,000 miles. Additionally, a coolant flush, examination of tie rods, and inspection of drive axle boots may also be included in the 60k mile car maintenance provided by Leon's Automotive.
Coolant System Service
Battery Replacement
Engine Service
This is a significant milestone! At 90,000 miles, most cars may necessitate new spark plugs and potentially even replacement of the timing or drive belt. Spark plugs are responsible for igniting the fuel inside your engine, while the timing belt regulates the engine's rhythm - both are crucial automotive services. Fortunately, some cars are equipped with a timing chain that does not require replacement. In fact, a timing chain may even outlast the engine itself! Another common repair at the 90k-mile mark is the replacement of the water pump. The water pump ensures that coolant is circulated through the engine, maintaining optimal operating temperature and maximizing fuel efficiency. Leon's Automotive is here to provide these necessary services and keep your vehicle running smoothly.
